Here at Details of Design, displays are always changing showcasing a variety of items and styles to fit any unique individual. With an Annapolis location near to the water it is only fitting that nautical items and displays are incorporated into our storefront. 75% of our clients at Fitzsimmons Design own a home on the water making these items essential for our designers to utilize. Some pieces are an obvious fit for any coastal décor while others add a subtle touch. If you’ve stopped in recently or peeked in our large front window you will see our rope, red, and blue display.
Junior designers Amy and Jaclyn knew they wanted to create a fun display with pops of color to accent a new rope mirror in stock- a big one measuring 38 inches in diameter! Use it in your space to make it feel larger, add light, and perhaps even reflect your waterfront view. It hangs over a folding door cabinet that is narrow in depth yet tall and wide for storage space. We love the woodwork details and large handles.
Accessories in the design carry the rope feature throughout. A fern isn’t in just a regular glass bowl but has rope pieces strung around it.
Baskets strung with rope have space for extra pillows and throws-3 sizes available. Stripes are also throughout the design, on vases, lamps, and pillows. Here is where the various shades of blue and red are brought in against neutral furniture pieces.
A seagrass box and leather ship-wheel style clock add subtle nautical touches.
Boats are another feature of this display, first shown in the navy polypropylene rug contrasting the tufted cocktail ottoman above it.
A soft, original oil painting displays boats and sets the color scheme. Rowboat photography adds to the color scheme and creates a design with various forms of wall décor.
